Jaye Starkes spent his early and adolescent years growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother then relocated, along with his two siblings, to the state of Georgia where she would raise them as a single mother. Although Jaye did not start pursuing his acting ambitions until college, he jumped in with enthusiasm to make up for lost time.
Jaye received his first stage experience at Georgia Regents University (then Augusta State University) in 2011. Since then, he has continued performed many diverse roles on numerous stages such as Augusta, Georgia's historic IMPERIAL THEATRE, LE CHAT NOIR and at the 2013 SOUTH EASTERN THEATRE CONFERENCE in Louisville, Kentucky. Some of the productions Jaye had the blessing to be apart of well known classics such as Women of Troy & Julius Caesar. The Pulitzer prize winning plays The Flick & Clybourne Park and most recently the lead Jackie in The Mother Fu**ker with the Hat & TopDog/UnderDog. Jaye decided he wanted to do more than just perform on a lit stage, so he set his eyes on conquering the many aspects of theatre wearing many hats behind the curtain as Director, Stage Manager and Set Designer. Jaye has also been paving his way in front of and behind the camera appearing in numerous short films, web serials. To date Jaye has written, directed and produced ELEVEN short films.
Jaye is a highly driven, self motivated entertainer who will only continue to grow. With his strong work, ethic the sky is the limit.
